Equal Exchange Chocolate Giveaway

It’s February, and you know what that means. Valentines Day is coming! To me, that means chocolate. Not just any chocolate, either--it’s got to be good!

A huge bonus would be if it was made using environmentally sustainable methods, fairly traded, and organic. Oh, and maybe it could benefit small-scale farmers and their families, too?

Giveaway closed, thank you for entering! Stay tuned for more.

The lucky winner of the chocolate is Kat. Congrats, Kat!

Seem like a tall order? Nope! It’s easier than you think to get all of these things in one box of chocolate. Equal Exchange has been putting all of these things into practice since 1986--starting with coffee, and eventually adding tea, chocolates, and other good things. I encourage you to check out their site and see what they have to offer. They also have very reasonable prices!

Equal Exchange Chocolate Caramel Crunch

I was given the opportunity to sample a couple of their new chocolate bars last week--Organic Chocolate Caramel Crunch with Sea Salt, and Organic Ecuador Dark Chocolate.* Both, as you’d expect, are fantastic.

  • The caramel crunch is 55% cacao and has a great “sweet with a hint of salt” thing going on, and as the name suggests, caramel crunch. It’s a slight crunch-and such a nice contrast to the creamy chocolate. Your bite finishes off with the hint of sea salt. Love!
  • The Ecuador dark chocolate bar is 65% cacao, so you’re going to get a nice dark chocolate experience with this one. My favorite way to enjoy dark chocolate? With juicy grapes and nuts on the side. I usually go for cashews, but almonds or pistachios are especially good, too (and good for you!). So satisfying, and with the added grapes and nuts, you can make your secret stash of chocolate last longer.

Equal Exchange Dark Chocolate Ecuador

If you normally keep chocolate around for snacking on or for baking with, why not make it delicious quality chocolate that you can feel good about?

I also have a coupon code to share with you! The coupon is good for $5 off a case of Equal Exchange chocolate in their online store. The code is: chocolate5. It expires 2/28/11, so get on over there and stock up!

Equal Exchange would like to offer you the chance to win a gift box of assorted Equal Exchange organic fairly traded chocolate bars to enjoy just in time for Valentine’s Day!

Equal Excahnge Mixed Chocolate Bar Gift Box

This will be a quickie giveaway so they have time to ship your chocolate out and get it to you (hopefully!) by February 14th. (US only for the shipping)

To enter:

1. Visit Equal Exchange’s Shop and have a look around. Come back here and in your comment, tell me what product you’d most like to try.

2.  For extra entries, you can tweet about this once a day. Make sure you link back to this post! You can copy this tweet:

Equal Exchange Chocolate Giveaway (win a box of bars) http://tinyurl.com/69gsvht at @elleskitchen Please RT!

3.  If you’re on Facebook and would like to share this giveaway post, you can earn an additional entry. Again, just be sure to include a link to this post. You can also do this once a day.

So you have three ways to earn entries to win the gift box of Equal Exchange Organic Chocolate Bars! I’ll choose a winner by this Friday, February 4th. Good luck!

*I was given the chocolate bars to sample at no charge, and not compensated for my review of the chocolate. The opinions expressed on this blog are my own.
